Netflix’s Resident Evil Infinite Darkness is bringing zombies to the White House. In its latest update, Netflix spilled the beans on the forthcoming 3DCG anime series. A lengthy plot that involves an iconic American government symbol and two of the game’s most popular characters: Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield.
In 2006, there were traces of improper access to secret Presidential files found in the White House’s network. American federal agent Leon S. Kennedy is among the group invited to the White House to investigate this incident, but when the lights suddenly go out, Leon and the SWAT team are forced to take down a horde of mysterious zombies…”
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is set a few years after the events of Resident Evil 4. This 3DCG anime series casts Nick Apostolides (English) and Toshiyuki Morikawa (Japanese) to voice Leon S. Kennedy. Stephanie Panisello (English) and Yuko Kaida (Japanese) will bring life to Claire Redfield. These two English voice actors are also the same ones in the 2019 Resident Evil 2.
Hiroyuki Kobayashi, the Resident Evil games producer, will get his hands dirty as the story supervisor. TMS Entertainment is producing the series, and Quebico will take care of the 3DCG animation. Quebico is also the 3DCG animation studio led by producer Kei Miyamoto that released the most recent feature film, Resident Evil: Vendetta, in 2019.
The release date for Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is scheduled for 2021. However, Infinite Darkness isn’t the only Resident Evil series coming to Netflix. A live-action series will also grace the streaming service about Wesker family members in two separate timelines.
Aside from Resident Evil Infinite Darkness, Capcom is also busy with a live-action film adaptation directed by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down) that stars Kaya Scoldelario (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) as Claire Redfield incoming this September.
