Braunwyn Windham Celebrates Sobriety
In an exclusive interview with Page Six, former RHOC star Braunwyn Windham admitted that overcoming her struggles was a difficult battle. The 44-year-old said:
“I have had days where I wanted to drink. I’m not going to sugarcoat it. Ninety percent of the time, it’s relatively easy for me not to pick up a drink. Eight percent of the time, it’s hard.”
The TV personality disclosed that whenever she felt overwhelmed, she would tell herself that she would die if she drank. Although extreme, she also revealed that the measure worked well for her.
Braunwyn recounted the challenges she faced during her recovery period. She said:
“There was a pandemic, I lost my first job, I ended a marriage, I’ve had a few relationships start and fail, I came out.”
“And all of these things, I think would have been excuses for a lot of people to drink: ‘I earned this drink, this has been hard, I’ve earned this.”
She added that at the end of the day, nothing she had been through would have been better if she had taken a drink.
The Bravolebrity also appreciated the support she received from fellow stars on their recovery journeys.
“I think the most important part of sobriety for me has been those phone calls. Those people will pick up no matter where I am or how bad I’m doing … and they talk me through it.”
Recovering from alcoholism is a difficult and laudable process. Fans of the Bravo star will certainly be happy to see her in a better state. Hopefully, former RHOC star Braunwyn Windham can keep celebrating her sobriety for a long time.
