What Did Kelly Dodd Say About Her Exit From RHOC?
During her talk with the Unpopular podcast, Kelly Dodd questioned the reason she was fired from the Real Housewives while making reference to other Bravo stars. Referring to them as “criminal” housewives, Dodd noted how stars like Teresa Giudice, Gina Kirschenheiter, and Jen Shah all remained on the reality show despite arrests and convictions.
Per Dailymail, She emphasized how Teresa spent nearly a year at Danbury Federal Correctional Institution in 2015. This was after the RHONJ star’s guilty plea =to fraud charges with her ex-husband Joe Giudice.
She continued by pointing out Jen Shah’s recent legal woes. The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City star committed a criminal offense by organizing a $5 million telemarketing scam that affected elderly people.
Kelly Dodd further pointed out her fellow RHOC star Gina’s DUI arrest. The star was also arrested and jailed overnight in early 2019. In essence, she later pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol.
Dodd lamented on the podcast about how she was fired while personalities like the above-mentioned women remained on the show. The mom-of-one stated that all she did was “ask questions.”
When Was Kelly Fired From the RHOC?
Kelly Dodd had some views and opinions about the Covid-19 pandemic that led to some controversies. This, in turn, led to her being fired from the show. She was also dropped from her partnership with “Positive Beverage,” which she promoted on the show.
In January 2021, Dodd and some friends were spotted dining maskless in Newport Beach. This had happened despite the rise in cases of the virus in southern California at the time.
This caused a lot of controversies on social media as netizens labeled her as being insensitive. The TV star defended herself as she claimed she was getting unnecessary hate for her actions.
Things escalated when she said the pandemic was ‘God’s way of thinning the herd.” Dodd received more backlash after wearing a novelty baseball cap at her bridal shower in 2020 that said Drunk Wives Matter. This enraged viewers as they interpreted it as her making a play of the term ”Black Lives Matter”.
After receiving backlash from enraged fans, the reality personality apologized for all these and termed them as a misunderstanding of her words.
