Believe it or not, Rob Dyrdek’s comedy clip show, Ridiculousness, has been running quite successfully on MTV for just over ten years. From this success and longevity, MTV has recently begun to produce new but similar shows that capitalize on the success of the original. These spinoffs include Deliciousness, which focuses on food content, and Messyness, which focuses more so on relationships, night-life, and debauchery in general. According to a report from Deadline, both Ridiculousness spinoffs, Deliciousness and Messyness, have been renewed by MTV for future seasons.
The first spinoff, Deliciousness, premiered back in December of 2020. The series features the host, Tiffani Thiessen, alongside a panel of co-hosts as they showcase and comment on food-related videos from the Internet. Thiessen’s panel of co-hosts consists of Angela Kinsey, Kel Mitchell, and Tim Chantarangsu. Shortly after the show’s debut, it was quickly renewed for a second season, which has already been filmed and aired throughout 2021 on MTV. However, Deliciousness‘ run is far from over. The show will return for a third season in 2022.
The second Ridiculousness spinoff, Messyness, premiered just a few months ago on August 23rd, 2021. This series features the host, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, along with her co-hosts showing and commenting on videos from the Internet that feature “messy” behavior. MTV’s website describes the show as an opportunity to “celebrate the chaos that occurs when adulting breaks down and life’s most embarrassing moments are caught on camera“. Polizzi’s co-hosts on the series are Tori Spelling, Adam Rippon, and Teddy Ray. Although season one is still airing on MTV, Messyness is confirmed to return for a second season on the network.
