On Thursday, February 23, 2023, Riley Keough made her first red-carpet appearance since the death of her mom, Lisa Marie Presley, attending the premiere of Daisy Jones & the Six, one of her latest movies. The star shared details about the effort that went into filming the Amazon Prime Video series, and her most personal experiences.
Riley Keough Shares Her Experience On The Daisy Jones & The Six Stage
While attending the Los Angeles premiere, Riley granted an interview with People, where she touched on the previously unknown parts of her experiences playing a movie role that resonated with her own personal life. On how she felt about playing the titular character given her family background as the granddaughter of the legendary singer Elvis Presley, Riley shared:
“It was amazing because I’m passionate about music, and we had rehearsed for a year and a half.”
She proceeded to explain how things just fell into place once she hit the stage. According to the 33-year-old, she and the other cast members were thrilled to finally test out the project they spent many months practicing. Riley Keough described her experience filming Daisy Jones & the Six as exciting and wonderful.
The actress previously opened up about her lead role as Daisy Jones in the series, saying it reminded her of her mom, who has been her inspiration. Embracing her mom’s penchant for doing things her way without fear of naysayers, Riley Keough has won over the entertainment industry with such movies as The Terminal List and The Girlfriend Experience.
Her latest, Daisy Jones & the Six, adapted from author Taylor Jenkins Reid’s best-selling novel of the same title, saw Riley perform alongside a star-studded cast comprising Reese Witherspoon, Sam Claflin, and Camila Morrone among others. While filming the Amazon Prime Video series, the actress welcomed a daughter with her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen. Yet, neither that nor the recent loss of her mom derailed her from putting on her best performance in the upcoming miniseries which premieres on March 3.
