Disney is growing the cast for its upcoming horror-comedy series adaption of Goosebumps with Rob Huebel, Variety has reported. He will be in a recurring guest role as Colin, the father of Margot (Isa Briones). His character is described as “a well-intentioned high school guidance counselor who is about to discover the world is a lot bigger and scarier than he ever imagined.”
The teen horror-comedy series will expand the genres found on the streaming platform across its many sectors of Marvel, National Geographic, and more. It will be taking pieces across R.L. Stine’s popular anthology book series for newcomers and readers of the books. It follows in the footsteps of Netflix’s R-rated take on Stine’s Fear Street.
Rob Huebel joins the rest of the cast of Goosebumps, which is set for a largely young roster of actors. It will star Ana Yi Puig (Jade Armor), Miles McKenna (Guilty Party), Justin Long, Will Price (The Equalizer), Zack Morris (EastEnders), Briones (Star Trek: Picard), Rachel Harris (Lucifer).

The new addition to the cast has had a long career in TV. He was nominated for Emmys for Childrens Hospital and The Awful Truth. Other notable TV roles that Rob Huebel has done that Goosebumps will soon accompany include Bob’s Burgers (and last year’s movie of the animated series), The Goldbergs, Transparent, Murderville, and I Know This Much Is True. For movies, he has starred in Spontaneous, Baywatch, The Descendants, I Love You Man, and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.
The upcoming series was created by Rob Letterman (Pokémon: Detective Pikachu) and Nicholas Stoller (Bros). Letterman also directed the 2015 movie based on Stine’s popular horror books. They executive produced with Nick Adams, James Eagan, Caitlin Friedman, Iole Lucchese, Neal H. Moritz, Kevin Murphy, Erin O. Malley, Pavun Shetty, and Conor Welch. Justis Greene, Brian Moraga, and Julia Ruchman produced.
