Rob Zombie has taken to Instagram this morning to confirm that a new trailer for The Munsters will be released on Wednesday. Fans of Zombie and his Munsters reboot are no stranger to leaked set photos and other behind-the-scenes material, with Zombie having released photos of the cast on social media as far back as March. Still, this newest photo treats fans to never-before-seen costumes and set details.
The Munsters film, as produced by Rob Zombie, is a reboot of a 1960s sitcom of the same name, following the wacky adventures of a family of “mundane monsters” who’ve moved from their home in Transylvania to Mockingbird Heights, your average, apple-pie American suburb. The family, which consists of Frankenstein’s Monster aka Herman Munster, his vampiric wife Lily, her father Count Dracula aka Grandpa, the couple’s lycanthropic son Eddie, and their perfectly normal human niece Marilyn, see themselves as perfectly average people and try their hardest to fit into the new suburban home, leading to comedic misunderstandings between them and their human neighbors.
What the New Photo Reveals about Rob Zombie’s ‘The Munsters’
With The Munsters slated to release later this year, according to ScreenRant, Rob Zombie has been keeping fans entertained with little tidbits of content now and then; an on-set photo of Herman (Jeff Daniel Phillips), Lily (Sherri Moon Zombie), and Grandpa (Daniel Roebuck) being released back in March, followed by more photos of the main trio throughout May and an on-set look at sea monster Uncle Gilbert, whose actor is currently unknown, in June 2022.
The latest set photo released by Zombie shows Herman and Lily holding hands and sharing a soda out of a skull in a goth-themed old-timey diner. The pair are possibly on a date, which would be sweet – the photo also showcases Herman and Lily in brand new outfits, not shown in the previous trailer, and announces that a new trailer for The Munsters will be released tomorrow, Wednesday, June 12th.
