After many years of waiting, Rockstar Games finally confirmed the next installment of the Grand Theft Auto game currently in development. Rockstar faced many backlashes after announcing the next-gen version of GTA V. It is yet to be known when the game will be released or the exact name of the new Grand Theft Auto game.
Rockstar released its monthly updates on what fans should expect from GTA Online in the following months, and at the end of the update, Rockstar confirmed the next GTA game is “well underway.” Rockstar also mentioned the new improvements of GTA Online that will be available in the following months.
With the unprecedented longevity of GTAV, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered — and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway. We look forward to sharing more as soon as we are ready, so please stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for official details.
Now that Rockstar has officially confirmed the next GTA game, we might see the game’s first footage in the coming months. We still don’t know what would be the official title of this GTA. There have been rumors that Rockstar will re-visit the Miami-inspired city of Vice City, which we last time saw in GTA: Vice City Stories.

Still, this doesn’t mean the game will be released in the near future. Rockstar is infamous for its long delays on every game. The last game of this fan favorite company was Red Dead Redemption 2, which was supposed to be released in the Fall of 2017, but it got delayed by one year. In the meantime, Rockstar also released the Definitive Edition of GTA Trilogy, one of the worst games released in 2021, which led to the company apologizing to the fans.
