As announced on Twitter earlier this week, Rooster Teeth is set to release an animated dark comedy series sometime next year. Even more exciting, they are working with RCG, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton’s production company.
Spikeface is a dark animated series that follows one of the “one of the world’s great horror icons.” After murdering a couple in their hotel room, he discovers his rookie mistake: there’s a baby. Now orphaned, our horror icon can’t bear to leave the child behind, he adopts the baby girl as his own. However, his roommates, who also happen to be iconic horror figures, aren’t excited about the new addition. Chaos ensues as the slashers adjust to their new life.
This is bordering on too much tweeting for me, but there's just so much going on! So, in case you haven't seen it yet:https://t.co/eeOuMyHT2I

The series will be made through Rooster Teeth‘s animation department, but McElhenney will executive produce the project. Created by Geoff Barbanell and Itai Grunfeld, Spikeface is set for eight episodes that will release sometime next year. It will be available exclusively through Rooster Teeth’s streaming service, which is accessible through their FIRST Membership for $4.99 a month.
Rooster Teeth’s chief creative officer Burnie Burns is excited about the new opportunity, “So many of us at Rooster Teeth are huge fans of Rob and we can’t wait to help him and his team bring ‘Spikeface’ to life.”
Along with Spikeface, Rooster Teeth has recently announced a slew of new content in the works. gen:LOCK is a mecha anime which is supposedly set to release this year; Camp Camp will begin its third season this summer; Million Dollars But… is also set to receive the animated treatment. As far as live-action goes, Achievement Haunter premiered earlier this month, and Rooster Teeth’s Murder Room and The Weird Place will release later this year. With much more coming in the next year, Rooster Teeth has plenty of exciting things in the making!
