It appears that someone had the idea to basically film a GTA Online session and slap Ryan Reynolds in the middle of that chaos for the first trailer of Free Guy.
The Deadpool star has had 2019 filled with hit movies such as Detective Pikachu to Hobbs and Shaw. Now, next summer is set to be filled with more CGI than all three of those films combined.
Free Guy sees Ryan Reynolds playing a game NPC bank teller who is fed up with the same routine every day. So, that’s when he decides to breaks free (oh, I see what they did there) and make his own destiny. Check out the trailer below.
Free Guy is inked by Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn while being directed by Shawn Levy. Levi has been behind the camera of such films as Night at the Museum and Reel Steel. Penn has co-written films like X2 and Ready Player One.
This project also stars Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Taika Waititi,
The film isn’t rated yet, but with all those headshots seen in the trailer, it wouldn’t be too shocking if it got an R. However, everyone we’ll have to wait to see if Fox’s new overlords at Disney let them do any more movies above PG-13.
Free Guy is scheduled to break its shackles next summer in a theatre near you. Check out the site for more info as the date draws closer

You’ll either see me writing or adventuring around the city, planet or whatever. Not just in video games but in real life where things are HD! The life of a journalist/gamer gets no sleep, add being a 20-something in Miami and you got yourself a spicy recipe for insomnia. I’m always up for a good story; shoot me an email at [email protected]
