Scarlett Johansson is set to make upwards of $15 million for her solo Black Widow film.
THR reports that Johansson’s earnings will put her in line with “what Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth earned for playing Captain America and Thor, respectively, in this year’s Avengers: Infinity War”.
It is also interesting to note that Evans and Hemsworth earned $15 million each for their appearances in Captain America: Civil War, Thor: Ragnarok, and the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War sequel in May 2019.
Scarlett first appeared on the MCU scene as Black Widow in 2010’s Iron Man 2, and later earned a low seven-figure salary for her work in the first Avengers movie.
In comparison to some other MCU actors, Robert Downey Jr. made significantly less for his first film in the universe, earning $500,000 for the first Iron Man. However, the juggernaut that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe hadn’t yet found its footing, and Robert Downey Jr.’s paycheck changed dramatically when it came time for Marvel’s Avengers; he earned a whopping $50 million for that film.
Chadwick Boseman earned $2 million for his first standalone film Black Panther earlier this year, and it is reported that Brie Larson will be earning $5 million for her starring role in next March’s Captain Marvel. However, THR also reports that Larson is signed onto a 7-film deal with Marvel Studios, something Larson was quick to dispute on Twitter stating, “Counterpoint: this is not true”, with a link to an article on the subject.

THR claims multiple sources are knowledgeable on Marvel Studios’ salary numbers, including Johansson’s numbers for Black Widow, but a spokesperson for Marvel insists that “Marvel Studios disputes the accuracy of these numbers, and as a matter of policy, we never publicly disclose salaries or deal terms.”.
Marvel’s Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 come out March 8, 2019, and May 3, 2019, respectively. The Black Widow film currently has no release date.
