What’s your favorite scary movie? Well, if the answer is the Scream franchise, then you might want to check this out.
A group of fans of the film recently launched a Kickstarter to organize a party in the iconic house that set in motion Ghostface killings. Not only will a party take place, but the film will be screening just like the characters were watching Laurie Strode run from Michael Myers‘ clutches. The Kickstarter’s goal is currently set at $50,000, however, the goal is not far from reach. People have already pledged $17,000 to see the event take place.
The party does not stop at the house, however, In addition, to the party, fans will be able to be part of what they call the “Woodsboro Bus Tour” which will let them hitch a ride to all eight filming locations of the movie. Although the amount to attend is quite hefty, as it requires a pledge of $750 if you want the ultimate experience. If you still want to attend, but don’t or can’t stay overnight, you can pledge $2o0 or more in order to have access to the house’s location in Santa Rosa, California, alongside other perks.
Stu’s house is currently a property only available for weddings and other special events, which couldn’t be more ironic.
Scream is considered one of the most iconic classics among slasher films. Wes Craven managed to reinvent the genre injecting the horror film with a distinct humor with some calling it a “meta-horror” classic. The 1996 film managed to spawn numerous sequels that remind the audience why this franchise is unique. Unfortunately, a fifth installment might never see a day of light as Wes Craven, the director attached to the series since the beginning, died back in 2015. As of now, the series has found a new place in the form of a tv show. Although, this is a complete reimagination, with a totally different take on the iconic mask as well.
