Sega of America’s Sonic Team has opened a job listing for the “Associate Manager of Lore” position. The job listing also clarifies that this position will span games, animation, comics, and other forms of media. Currently, it is listed as a full-time position.
The job listing then goes on to clarify that the job will involve organizing and shaping the Sonic lore, canon, and universe. This position will also help bring consistency, connectivity, and “creativity to all things Sonic”. The position is mid-senior level, and requires being “extremely well-versed in all things Sonic.”
The position will be located in Sega’s Burbank office in Burbank California. However, it is listed as a full-time remote position on a hybrid schedule starting January 2023. Those in-person days are listed as Tuesday and Wednesday.

Codifying the current status while planning for the future, you will help the lore team stay organized, prioritized, and galvanized, all while facilitating transparency and communication across the organization.”
Sega’s Manager of Lore role is also said to interface closely with teams around the world. Some of the job qualifications for the position include strong project management skills, and the ability to be comfortable creating visual lore references and narrative content summaries. Proficiency in using Adobe Creative Cloud and Office 365. Those that have animation production management will also be preferred, with references being a strong leg up in applications.
