While we won’t see some faces return for the fourth season of Sex Education, the series will add Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. He will be in a recurring role with newcomers Thaddea Graham (Doctor Who) and Marie Reuther (Kamikaze). Felix Mufti, Anthony Lexa, Alexandra James, and Imani Yahshua will all make their acting career debut with the Netflix series.
As the third season saw the closure of Moordale, the next outing for Sex Education will fill a hole as multiple cast members have exited the project. Patricia Allison (Ola), Tanya Reynolds (Lily), Simon Ashley (Olivia), and Rahkee Thakrar (Emily) have individually announced they will not return for various reasons.
Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy joins Sex Education
While four members will not return to Sex Education, at least there is the rest of the cast who will reprise their roles. Returning for season 4 will be Asa Butterfield (Otis), Gillian Anderson (Jean), Ncuti Gatwa (Eric), Aimee Lou Wood (Aimee), Emma Mackey (Maeve), Connor Swindells (Adam), Kedar Williams-Stirling (Jackson), Mimi Keene (Ruby), George Robinson (Isaac), Chinenye Ezeudu (Vivienne), Dua Saleh (Cal), Alistair Petrie (Michael), and Samantha Spiro (Maureen). Gatwa is notably going to be the next Doctor in Doctor Who.
Dan Levy of Schitt’s Creek joining Sex Education is a strong follow-up after the 2020 finale of his series that put him on the map. The four-time Emmy winner was an executive producer and co-creator of the series that he co-wrote. Last year he signed a multi-year TV and film deal with Netflix.
Laurie Nunn created Sex Education, in which she serves as an executive producer and showrunner. It is also executive produced by Jamie Campbell and Ben Taylor. No date has been listed when season 4 of the series will premiere. For now, you can catch up as every episode is available on Netflix.
