Fresh off of his induction into the NBA Hall of Fame, multi-talented NBA baller Shaquille O’Neal has been selected to grace the cover of the NBA 2K18 Legend Edition. The announcement from 2K means that the next installment in their storied basketball video game franchise will feature special content and memorabilia specific to the 7 foot 1-inch center, actor, broadcaster and rapper, known for his dominance in the paint, and lack of it with free-throws.
In the announcement press release O’Neal said, “I want to thank NBA 2K for their continuous support of my basketball and broadcast career,” continuing, “I’m excited to be on the cover of the NBA 2K18 Legend Edition and I hope my fans have a blast playing it up big man style and re-creating my most legendary in-game moments!” The latest announcement means that the upcoming 2K18 will be the third time that O’Neal has appeared on the cover of an NBA 2K game. The big man has also ventured into other video game forays being the inspiration behind the 1995 SNES fighting game Shaq-Fu that was almost universally panned. Despite this, a sequel, Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn, has been announced and is in the works.

Gamers who pre-order NBA 2K18 Legend Edition and NBA 2K18 Legend Edition Gold will qualify for early tip-off access where they can get their hands on the action September 15, 2017, a full four days before the rest of the public on Xbox One, Switch, and PS4. In addition, they will also receive:
