Although this Texas Karen thought she could beat the system by asking for a free tattoo, the shop employees would then make a TikTok about the request, as the encounter was definitely strange. The video posted to the account, @Bibibodypiercings, has amassed around 57,00 likes and 800,000 views as it hits viral status.
The TikTok begins with a woman walking into the shop, and she isn’t necessarily dressed to be in public. The Texas woman’s outfit inadvertently draws attention; the video even zooms in to point it out. The woman can be seen wearing a stained long-sleeved shirt, as well as a pair of jeans that look too big for her. However, to top it all off, she isn’t wearing any shoes, just socks right on the pavement.
Texas TikTok Karen Wants A Free Tattoo
As the woman stands at the shop’s entrance for a few minutes, a man can be heard asking her if he can help her with anything. The woman then says no, unless they can give her a “Free tattoo.” The man then states that they cannot do that, and she counters with the idea of a “Pay later tattoo.” After the employee explains to the woman that they do not offer things like that, he apologizes. Although the woman would brush it off and say she wants some kind of name tattooed on her. However, the video comment section appeared to be very annoyed by this woman. “Is America Great yet?” wrote one, jokingly.
It was at that time that the Texas Tattoo Karen was asked to leave by the employees. Surprisingly, she doesn’t have an issue with this, as she turns around and walks right out of the store. The TikTok also plays the Super Mario 64 music as she walks out the door. While this encounter was definitely strange, it had a surprisingly calm ending. However, it would appear that run-ins like this are pretty common for tattoo artists.
However, the employees seemingly handled the situation perfectly. The man was not rude about answering her questions or asking her to leave the shop, and in return, she didn’t cause a scene, like most Karens do. Tattoo artists are exactly that, artists, and they expect to be compensated for their hard work. Tattoos are not a need, and if money is tight, maybe one isn’t the best option.
