Tarr Slimes, also referred to as The Tarr, have made their way back into Slime Rancher 2 as a thorn in Beatrix’s side. These corrupt creatures are the result of Largo Slimes consuming a Plort that it does not produce. Unlike the unruly Feral Slimes, Tarr Slimes will eat other Slimes and reproduce, causing an outbreak that is challenging to stop. Furthermore, they will destroy any Crops grown in the Conservatory and will even attack players on sight. Needless to say, knowing how to defeat the evil horde of Tarr Slimes is essential for safeguarding one’s base in Slime Rancher 2.
Defeating Tarr Slimes In Slime Rancher 2
Similar to the prequel, Tarr Slimes can be defeated with water, a resource that is seemingly abundant around the isles but tricky to get during the early portion of Slime Rancher 2. To get started on one’s eradication of The Tarr, players will need to craft the Hydro Turret and Water Tank.Â

Both the Water Tank and Hydro Turret are devices that can be assembled using the Fabricator. The Water Tank serves as an Upgrade for players’ Vacpack, while the Hydro Turret is an automated turret that can safeguard a small area from Tarr Slimes. According to Attack of the Fanboy, fans will need 450 Newbucks, 10 Angler Plorts, 10 Puddle Plorts, and 10 Deep Brine to construct the Water Tank Upgrade. Newbucks is the currency earned from selling Plorts, and Deep Brine is a resource found throughout the Rainbow Fields. Spouting mini-geyser nodes of water produce Deep Brine and can be interacted with using the Harvester Upgrade. Puddle Slimes, which produce Puddle Plorts, can be found in the Starlight Strand region, accessible by feeding a Cotton Gordo south of the Rainbow Fields. Angler Slimes are also located within this biome.Â
Next, Hydro Turrets are the second means by which players can defeat Tarr Slimes in Slime Rancher 2. These devices can be crafted using 250 Newbucks, 10 Boom Plorts, 5 Puddle Plort, and 5 Deep Brine. These crafting resources are identical to those of the Water Tank. However, bear in mind that Hydro Turrets are not mobile once placed, unlike players who can chase after Tarr mobs with their Vacpack.
