Take on the role of Beatrix LeBeau in Slime Rancher, the first interstellar Slime Rancher. While farming fruits, vegetables, and others commodities is a noble profession, it will not always pay the bills. That is why LeBeau has chosen to take her eccentric skillset to another planet a few light-years away from Earth.
This isn’t your run-of-the-mill animal farming either. The slimes are unpredictable and come in various forms, each breed with a unique set of traits. While some creatures may simply split apart, others are much faster and will force you to chase them. Regardless of the slimes you choose to wrangle in, you’ll have your hands full.
Build your fortune among the stars as the first Slime Rancher.
Beginnings of Slime Rancher
When the world was first introduced to the farming of slime, the title was released back in 2017 for Steam and Xbox One. It received a digital release the following year on PlayStation 4. The first incarnation of the game was often referred to as Slime Rancher 1.0. After overwhelmingly positive reception on both Steam and the Xbox One console, developer Monomi Park enlisted the help of Skybound Games for a physical copy.
The game was the winner of the “Best Simulation Game” in Game Informer’s Best of 2017 awards.
The Deluxe Edition
On May 26th, with the help of Skybound Games, a physical deluxe edition of Slime Rancher was released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The deluxe edition includes:
- Full game copy with every content update
- Secret Style and Fashion Playset DLC packs
- The Slimepedia Booklet – a guide to the far, far, range
- and digital copies of parts 1 and 2 of the Original Soundtrack, containing over 50 songs
