The highly anticipated Sonic Frontiers Sights, Sounds, and Speed DLC update is rapidly approaching consoles and PC for Sonic fans at the end of this month, making it the first establishment of the coveted free DLC. As the first part of the 2023 gradual release of three content waves, this first DLC establishment comes as the herald to more things to come, giving fans more to do in Frontiers as the year progresses.
Sonic Frontiers Sights, Sounds, and Speed DLC Update Release Date
The exact release time of the DLC depends on where you live. If you signed up for the official newsletter, you may even already know about the release since the announcement for the Sights Sounds and Speed DLC came out via email announcement on March 21st. Now with a public post on the Sonic the Hedgehog official Twitter account, the release is here, coming to fans on March 23rd.

Sonic Team plans to release the rest of the DLC later this year. Even so, the game continues to receive updates, bug fixes, and improvements throughout the year. Other than the Sights, Sounds, and Speed DLC, there is much to look forward to. Work happening in the background makes an enjoyable game for new and old fans alike. For instance, the long-dreaded Hermit Koco exchange time is now shortened. Players can now trade in all their Koco at once. Other quality-of-life fixes, such as the power-up animations being optional, are welcome changes coming in hot for fans as well.
As one of the first Sonic games in over five years to reach fans, the new DLC has fans excited. Compared to Sonic Team’s recent release history, the DLC is an upgrade to an already robust release. The upcoming DLC is bigger than anything we’ve had for Forces in 2015. The base content has made it an exciting prospect for any fan of the Blue Blur.
Sonic Frontiers is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4/5, and Xbox S/X.
