Attention Sega and more specifically Sonic The Hedgehog fans, your favorite high-speed hedgehog has a commercial available, which will be showing during the Super Bowl on February 2, 2020. This live-action film is based on the wildly popular video game series by Sega and comes out in theatres on February 14, 2020.
A Rough Start For Sonic
For fans of the original video game, this movie received some initial criticism with the character design, which was released in early 2019. However, by the end of 2019, Paramount released an updated character design, which was greatly appreciated. The new design looks more like the Sonic we are used to seeing from the animated series and games.
The trailer from November 2019, does show Sonic using some of his more widely known powers and this new commercial shows even more. The previous trailer showed us some iconic powers like super speed and the use of the gold rings. However, the commercial shows that Paramount has finally got the Sonic franchise down. This new clip shows the Sonic concussive ball (squee). It also gives us some fun cameos with some well-known athletes.
Something To Look Forward To
For fans of the iconic series, this commercial gives us all of the things we loved. It features the games’ original sounds, powers, and of course the original villain, Dr. Robotnik. The best part is getting to see just how much of Sonic’s notorious cocky and quirky personality we’ll get to see in his upcoming feature film.
At present, not much is known about the upcoming movie in general, not much of the plot has been released, and very little is known about the movie’s timeline. If this new commercial is any kind of indicator of the movie, fans of super-powered hedgehogs, Sonic the Hedgehog seems like it will be a lot of fun.
