News on the PS5 lineup has been scarce, to say the least. Yet, many people remain patiently waiting to see what the next-gen PlayStation will have on tap this Holiday season. Thankfully, it seems that they won’t have to wait much longer.
Here’s what Sony President and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida had to say during a recent corporate strategy meeting (via VGC):
āGames for the PS5 that deliver this new game experience are being made by both first and third-party developers and we plan to introduce a compelling line-up of titles soon,ā
Of course, this statement is pretty vague, and we have no solid timetable for when Sony will showcase the PS5’s game lineup. Still, Sony has been tight-lipped on new developments regarding the library of games that will be included on the PS5 (at launch and beyond). So at least we have an update that a PS5 showcase is coming sooner rather than later. Until then, we can all continue to rewatch that Unreal Engine 5 tech demo and imagine what the games will look like.
When Could We See The PS5 Lineup Revealed?
Now that we know a PS5 showcase is coming down the pike soon, it’s time to look forward and try to speculate when exactly that will be.
Via Jeff Grubb of Venturebeat, there will be a Sony event happening sometime in early June. Grubb stated that the aforementioned event was set to take place on June 4th, but it’s being moved around. What can we expect to see from the June event? According to Grubb, “Sony was putting together a roster of next-gen games (not just first-party).” This lines up with Yoshida’s comments, so we may be seeing a PS5 showcase in the next few weeks.
