Call of Duty is a series that you either love or love to hate. Whichever camp you fall into, you’ll spend the majority of this run gripping the edge of your seat. It’s Modern Warfare 2 by Red Dagger, and despite playing with all due speed, the game’s chaotic and gritty atmosphere has no problem keeping up. That, along with being a solid campaign mode in the series overall, solidified it as the chosen representative featured in Speedrun Fast. There are several factors that go into consideration, but for this iteration, it was all about skill and thrill.
If only real wars could be settled in an hour and a half. The frantic shouts and grinding of gunfire are omnipresent whether Dagger is jumping in front of cars waiting for the mission to end or escaping a hellstorm of bullets. The only noticeable flubs are missing a few kills or being too slow at certain moments. Other than that, Dagger gets through Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with no deaths, even if there are a few close calls. Fun fact: he took two bathroom breaks during the run.
There’s a marathon run of all three Modern Warfare games in the Call of Duty subseries. It’s six hours long and the runner isn’t at all happy with it, but it’s the only single-video run across multiple games, as no one else has attempted a marathon. The Call of Duty running community is still very active, with the most recent submission dated just the other day for WWII. The series itself certainly isn’t going to halt anytime soon even as oversaturated as the FPS market has become in the last couple of years. It’s a series that long ago carved its exalted status in stone.
For something a little lesser-known but still pretty dang good, check out a run of Rayman 3: Hooldum Havoc.
