Marvel has just revealed the title of the next installment in the Spider-Man franchise. Spider-Man: No Way Home will release in theaters on December 17, later this year. While details are relatively scarce, fans no longer have to speculate on the title for the next movie. Along with the announcement, Marvel Entertainment’s Twitter page released a video riffing on lead actor Tom Holland’s propensity for leaking details surrounding the franchise. The clip also features Jacob Batalon, who plays Ned, and Zendaya who plays MJ.

The clip is also a direct response to the slew of possible titles that leaked online in the past week. Tom Holland spread a few red herrings via Instagram. He leaked a variety of possible titles including Spider-Man: Phone Home, Spider-Man: Home Wrecker, and even Spider-Man: Home Slice.
Indeed, few movies attract as much rumor as Spider-Man: No Way Home. Last year, Sony Pictures via ET Canada shot down the possibility that both Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield would appear in the next film. This came as an unwelcome revelation to fans who were expecting to see the multiverse finally become canon on screen. With the recent appearance of Evan Peters on WandaVision, the idea would seem even less farfetched, but fans will apparently have to wait even longer to see the multiverse on the big screen.
Also, as per The Hollywood Reporter, Jamie Foxx is slated to reprise his role as Electro in Spider-Man: No Way Home. This news, along with the fact that Alfred Molina is set to appear as Doctor Octopus and Charlie Cox as Daredevil, has left Marvel fans flocking to comic canon in an attempt to descry possible plots for the upcoming release.
While it’s hard to separate rumor from reality at this point, we do have an official title. What do you think of the title? Does it give you any hints as to the movie’s content? We’d love to hear your ideas in the comments. Please share this around so others can join in the conversation.
