Y’all know what time it is! It’s The Nerd Stash, coming to you virtually from the Internet. Look, that was the best I could do, alright? Anyway, the Squid Research Lab has created some pretty freaky promotional artwork for Splatoon 2 in honor of Halloween, featuring Pearl and Marina dressed up and in the spirit. Get it, spirit? Ghost. Halloween. But if you look more closely, you might just see someone else peeking out from the background…
明日はハロウィン。イカ研究所のイラスト担当研究員からグリーティングカードが届いたので、皆さんにもお送りしておこう。

Marina is rocking that skeleton paint, while Pearl looks absolutely ghastly… in a good way. Also kind of dapper – well done. If you’re having trouble spotting the third character, look lower on the image. The Japanese text basically just says “tomorrow is Halloween, so please enjoy this illustrated greeting card from Squid Research Lab.”
In other Splatoon 2 news, Europe’s next splatfest theme has been announced. This time, Marina and Pearl will be bickering over bacon and sassing about cereal – it’s warm breakfasts vs. cold breakfasts. Again, this is the European theme, and North America’s may be different. Expect details incoming within the next week or two. It won’t be Halloween-themed, that ship has already sailed, but there’s a good chance we’ll see something Thanksgiving related. Light meat vs dark meat, perhaps? Or something more obvious like stuffing vs. cranberry sauce. Man, that would be really hard to choose between. And now I’m hungry. Great.
Finally, in case you missed it, Splatoon 2‘s last splatfest was a massive blowout victory for Pearl, with vampires dominating every scored category over werewolves. That brings the total North American count to 3-1 in favor of the clam girl. Worldwide, the total is 8-4, including overlapping themes. You can get in-depth details from the Splatoon 2 wiki. Get it together, Marina fans!
That’s all the time we’ve got. Don’t get tricked, stay off the hook!
