3D platforming games have been in an interesting place for the last few years, while the genre largely remained untouched by many developers. Recently, many developers are venturing into the genre with titles like Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart proving Triple-A platformers are worth their cost. With the recently released Spongebob Squarepants: Battle For Bikini Rehydrated receiving so much praise, the interest has never been higher. Now announced at THQ Nordic’s anniversary showcase, Spongebob is finally receiving a new game. While the CG trailer only showcases some quick clips, there is plenty to infer. With an interesting trailer, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a brand new 3D platforming adventure.
What Does the SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake Trailer Reveal?
While the main trailer features iterations of Spongebob, he also travels through mysterious portals. Opening up all around Bikini Bottom and at different times, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake involves so much of the series history. While the trailer ends with a recreation of Sweet Victory, further info otherwise is still unknown. Still, the store pages reveal some crucial info on the gameplay of the title. Distinctly featuring seven worlds of unique locations and SpongeBob 3D platforming through them. With music from the show and the real voice actors, the title is truly shaping up to be a brand new Battle for Bikini Bottom. At the very least, the title is certainly inspired by the game’s unique take on exploring. Confirming karate moves and fishhooks swinging, The Cosmic Shake certainly takes inspiration from past SpongeBob games. Despite no release date having been set just yet, the coming soon placeholder hopefully won’t stay too long. SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake will release on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One sometime soon.
