Square Enix announced that they’re going to drop Exclusive NFT Trading Cards based on their critically acclaimed Final Fantasy 7 franchise. Each pack will have 6 physical cards and one NFT voucher. It also consists of over 200 pieces of artwork that the players would be able to collect physically and digitally as NFTs.Â
Final Fantasy 7 NFT Trading Cards – An Anniversary With A Bang
To honor their 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy 7, Square Enix, the developers of the role-playing video game available on PlayStation, decided to drop these trading cards in three different sets–Normal, Premium, and Secret– for the beloved fans to choose from.
NFTs are non-interchangeable packets of data stored on a blockchain, and the game will allow you to change digital packs into NFTs. How to redeem the cards? The details are not disclosed yet and will be announced at a later time. It is also said that different designs will consist of different redemption periods.
As NFTs are created on Enjin, a marketplace for digital collectibles, players would be required to make an account (free) on the NFT platform and agree to their terms and conditions to redeem the digital cards. But the hype for NFTs has kind of died down. Will FF7 fans still go for these NFT cards?
The physically sealed box consists of 20 physical card packs with 6 physical trading cards selected randomly from 207 different and exciting designs. The digital cards can be claimed through the one-exchange ticket provided. This will allow players to enjoy their collection anywhere and anytime on their smartphones or PC.
Developers think this is an excellent way for players to collect their favorite cards digitally, complete with the excitement and charm of Final Fantasy 7. What are your thoughts on this?
