‘Squid Game’ Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk Teases Season 2 Release

Hwang Dong-hyuk told Vanity Fair that guesses the Season 2 release date of Squid Game will be in 2023 or 2024. More specifically he says it could be the end of 2023 or early 2024. That is far from a specified release date for Season 2 of Squid Game. “Humanity is going to be put to a test through those games once again,” Hwang Dong-hyuk said about Season 2. Fans will have to wait longer for another season of the Netflix survival drama series. It premiered last fall and took Netflix and social media by storm. The survival drama series became the most-watched Netflix original in the streaming service’s history. The streaming service announced the renewal last January. It became the first non-English series at the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards to rack up nominations for the cast in a drama series for Lee Jung-jae and Jung Ho-yeon.

Hwang Dong-hyuk Has Some Ideas for the Direction of Season 2

Vanity Fair reported: “[Hwang] only has about three pages’ worth of ideas that he plans to turn into a script, so there isn’t much he can say [about Season 2] except that there will be more games.” Hwang Dong-hyuk has been speculating storylines for Season 2 of the Netflix drama survival series for months. He talked about possibly expanding more on the police officer and his brother the Front Man’s story. Hwang Dong-hyuk also discussed Gi-hun and his plan to take down the people designing the game. There is no solid plot or release date for Season 2 of Squid Game. Dong-hyuk has other projects he’s working on while fans eagerly wait for the continuation of the Netflix survival drama series. No matter the release date or the plotline of Season 2 of Squid Game, Dong-hyuk will know how to further shock audiences.

Fans will just have to wait an additional one or two years for the release of the next season of Squid Game.
