IDW is launching a new Star Trek series this October. The series sees Captain Benjamin Sisko and Data return to the Star Trek Universe. Joining them are T’Lir and Sato in the ongoing series. According to Bleedingcool, the series crosses through the different iterations of the iconic television show.
What Do We Know About Star Trek #1
IDW boasts an impressive creative team for Star Trek #1. The ongoing series features art from artist Ramon Rosanas. Meanwhile, it is written by Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing. This is the same creative team responsible for Star Trek: Year Five.Â
The new series is set to weave an all-new and unprecedented adventure that spans the far reaches of the Universe. It brings together characters from across the entire galaxy. Not to mention characters from across the multiple eras and variations of the Star Trek franchise. These characters ban together to prevent the mysterious murder of the Gods themselves.
It all kicks off in Star Trek #1 set during Stardate 2378. Benjamin Sisko is back from the Bajoran Wormhole omnipotent. However, his godhood is slowly failing him. Set aboard the U.S.S. Theseus, Sisko is on a mission from the Prophets. During that mission, he witnesses something unthinkable: the killing of the Gods. Now, only Sisko and his crew of Starfleet members from across the Multiverse can stop this.
Hype From The Creative Team!
Artist Rosanas is ecstatic at the opportunity to add to the Star Trek Universe. Having watched reruns of the classic series endlessly, they never missed an episode of the subsequent series. As such, this opportunity to bring that passion and creativity to the franchise is a no-brainer.
Meanwhile, Lanzing is ecstatic at the return of Captain Sisko. Especially in such an Avengers-esque team-up that brings many iconic characters together in one adventure. Similarly, Kelly is excited to add to the stories of these iconic characters that mean so much to so many.
