Rachel Nichols (Star Trek) will lead a thriller feature titled Dark Night Of The Soul, as reported by Deadline. SJ Creazzo (Skipping Stones) will direct and write the film. The film begins production this fall in upstate New York.
The Rachel Nichols thriller will follow her as a scientist who gets stuck in her car after a car accident. She struggles to live for not only the sake of her own life but because she holds a cure for a deadly illness.
Dreamality Entertainment is backing the film with private sources funding its budget. Glass House will handle sales.

The actress got her first major film with The Sisterhood of Traveling Pants 2 with America Ferrera (How to Train Your Dragon), Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls), Amber Tamblyn (Y: The Last Man), and Blake Lively (Gossip Girl). She followed that up with J.J. Abrams’s Star Trek in 2009 with Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto (Invincible), Karl Urban (The Boys), Anton Yelchin, and Zoe Saldana (Guardians of the Galaxy). 2009 was her year to strive for blockbusters as she was also in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra with Dennis Quaid and Channing Tatum.
On TV, she starred in 13 episodes of Criminal Minds from 2010-2011. A year later, she led Continuum, the sci-fi series that lasted four seasons. In more recent years, she went into the superhero genre with Titans on HBO Max. Continuing the streaming shows, she was in Amazon’s dystopian drama The Man in the High Castle. Earlier in the year, she was in the comedy drama A Million Little Things.
Next up, before the release of Dark Night Of The Soul, Rachel Nichols turns to another thriller that leans more into horror with The Last Will and Testament of Charles Abernathy. The film will star Peyton List (Cobra Kai), Austin Stowell (Whiplash), Bob Gunton (Daredevil), and David Walton (New Girl).
