Star Wars: Rogue Squadron Now On Steam

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron fans have received good news. The game, originally released on the N64 and PC in 1998, has landed on Steam with 3D support. Rogue Squadron had previously been available as part of the DRM-free store on GOG for $10.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron sees players playing as Luke Skywalker as he works with Wedge Antilles to form Rogue Squadron. The squadron is tasked with taking out the forces of the Empire and saving the Rebel Alliance.

Fly in missions against the Empire in the ever popular X-Wing.

If you’ve never played the game, some of the things that players will include dogfights, bombing runs, and rescue tasks. Some of the popular ships from the Star Wars universe are here for you to fly and complete missions with. Some of the vehicles include X-wings, Y-wings, A-wings, V-wings, and snow speeders. You will use the vehicles to take on the forces of Empire as they pilot AT-ATs, AT-STs, and TIE fighters.

This new version of Star Wars: Rogue Squadron is subtitled 3D. It offers, according to 1998 standards, “astonishing 3D details.” The details include an explosion, smoke, tracer fire, and other effects. While these details might look the best, it might still be worth checking out for the nostalgia factor.
