Developer Motive Studios and publisher Electronic Arts released an all-new CG short for their upcoming space combat title Star Wars: Squadrons, titled “Hunted”.
The story-based cinematic trailer showcases the losing Imperials being shot down by Rebel forces in space warfare. In “Hunted”, we fly alongside Imperial Pilot Varko Grey, who is the last remaining TIE fighter pilot amid the perilous wreckage of an Imperial dockyard orbiting the planet of Var-Shaa. As his ship continuously breaks down, he makes a desperate retreat from an aggressive New Republic X-wing fighter. Throughout the action-packed trailer, we see the conflict between the New Republic fighter and Imperial Grey, dodging through ship debris and bringing their confrontation down to the planet.
The short ends with a weary Grey who quickly regains his strength after landing on Var-Shaa.
Varko Grey is just one of the many interesting characters you will meet in your journey through Star Wars: Squadrons. The short was made in collaboration with the developers, Lucasfilm, and Industrial Light & Magic. This short comes after the initial reveal trailer and single-player preview that dives the story further into its central conflict.
The war’s over, Imp.”
