BioWare has been relatively quiet as of late regarding their MMORPG. Now, that’s all about to change. Prepare to travel to new locations as Star Wars: The Old Republic receives a massive update. The latest expansion, Onslaught, introduces new story content for players to dive into along with loads of new gear.
Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Onslaught of New Content
The Galactic Republic and Sith Empire continue their galaxy-spanning battle on new terrain in Star Wars: The Old Republic. The new Flashpoint deals with the Republic’s new shipyard on Corellia, which could be a turning point in the war. The Empire is aware of this and plans on mounting an assault on the planet. Join the Jedi and defend this critical base of operations or ally yourself with the Sith to shatter the enemy’s stronghold. The aftermath could spell victory or doom for either side.
Along with Corellia, other new locations have been confirmed for Star Wars: The Old Republic. Onslaught lets players travel to Mek-Sha, an asteroid base that is home to all kinds of criminal activity. If that is not your kind of hangout, the jungle planet Onderon might be a little more your speed. Just beware that much of the wildlife is hostile and the Empire is looking to sever the planet’s remaining ties to the Republic. In addition, a new Operation will take players to Onderon’s moon, Dxun, for more battle and glory.
While the game is free-to-play, it is important to note that Onslaught will only be available to subscribed users. However, BioWare is making the previous expansions, Rise of the Hutt Cartel and Shadow of Revan, available to all players regardless of subscription. This should give gamers a reason to return to the galaxy far, far away and either pick up where they left off or begin a new adventure. Download the new update for Star Wars: The Old Republic and rejoin the fight! Will you be returning to your old characters? How do you think the game holds up since its launch?
