Stardew Valley is truly an underdog success story, having gone from an indie game created by one man – over a tumultuous couple of years – to a best selling game across multiple consoles. After finding even more success with its Nintendo Switch port, it seems Sony wants in on the action as well, as it was announced a PS Vita port is on the way.
While many believe the PlayStation portable console to be dead in the water, the Stardew Valley team stated in earlier last year that they were looking into the possibility of a Vita port. In a blog post on the team’s development blog, mollygos revealed that they would be rolling out the port next year.
“I’m happy to announce that a PS Vita port is actually happening,” exclaimed mollygos. “It’ll be available next year, and it’ll have cross-buy too, so if you’ve got Stardew Valley on Playstation 4 you won’t need to buy it again to play it on your PS Vita!”
She went on to detail that this new port would not be receiving the multiplayer update, unfortunately. The multiplayer for the other versions of the game is coming along nicely apparently though. While it won’t make the planned launch goal of the end of the year, Stardew Valley’s multiplayer beta will likely arrive in Q1 of 2018, in order to make sure the game is completely polished upon release.
ConcernedApe is also working on new content to be released alongside the multiplayer update as well, one which will also affect single player, with the twitter post below offering a hint at what is in the works.
I'm working on some new Stardew Valley content, to be released with the upcoming free multiplayer update. This will affect single-player, too! I'll share more when the release gets closer. Though I'll keep some things secret (more fun) pic.twitter.com/rgWCt8IIRi

Finally, it looks like Stardew Valley is extending its global reach, as language support for French, Italian, Korean and Turkish will be added in 2018.
