Earlier this month, it was reported that Stardew Valley was expected to be ported to the Switch this Year. Now, after another update on Twitter, it has been revealed that the farming favorite will officially be submitted to Nintendo for testing later this week.
The news comes after Chucklefish CEO and Designer Finn Brice posted a status update on Twitter.

For the past week, Brice has been posting updates for Stardew Valley on his Twitter account, stating that the game will be announced as soon as they are sure it is ready, but testing is going very well. He informed fans to stay patient, and that he would be sure to update them progressively if there were any major updates (like the news above).
In regards to the actual testing process, there is no exact time table in which a game is released once it passes. Speculation has stated that if no bugs were found, that Stardew Valley could be ported to the Nintendo Switch within the next two months. That would line up with their previous statement that they expect the title to be published on the platform before the end of 2017.
There is the possibility of it releasing even soon though, given the fact that this iteration of Stardew Valley will only be available as a downloadable title, not in hard copy. With that in mind, there doesn’t seem to be any reason that it can’t go on sale immediately after passing the certification.
While there is no guarantee that Stardew Valley will even be released this year, the prospect that it could pop up on the Nintendo e-shop within the month is an exciting one for fans.
