The year began on a high note with Xbox and Nintendo doing great showcases for their upcoming games. Xbox had a developer’s showcase that showed titles like Hi-Fi Rush and Elder Scrolls Online. Nintendo had a direct that showed us what will come with Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Now, Sony’s joining the fray with a State of Play scheduled for February 2023. In this show, the company will focus on VR2 titles, indie and third-party games, and most importantly, the new Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League game. This month is about to get some excellent game news before it ends.
Sony’s State of Play will happen on February 23, 2023
The official UK Twitter account has confirmed that Sony is planning a State of Play on February 23, 2023. It’ll start at 9 pm GMT and will feature many titles. While it will focus on VR2 games and some indie and third-party ones, the big news is about the upcoming Suicide Squad game. This title had its announcement a while ago, and it has shown some stuff here and there. The last thing we saw was Batman making an appearance with Kevin Conroy reprising his legendary role one last time and some leaks about the game having live service features.

The news about the game becoming a live service has many fans disappointed already. We already saw what happened with Marvel’s Avengers, which is about to close down and some are thinking Suicide Squad might go that way too. Here we hope that the developers heard the complaints and changed things at the last moment. Still, Rocksteady hasn’t really disappointed us in the past, so hopes for the State of Play of February 2023 are high. Now, all we can do is wait for the show to begin this Thursday and hopefully get some news about this highly anticipated game.
