Welcome back to our weekly Steam games segment. If you haven’t been here before, we cover all the games that are either free to keep or free to play over the current weekend. If you want to see what was free last weekend, you can find that here. One of the games, Project Mercury, is still free to keep, so be sure to claim that if you haven’t already. Either way, this week brings a bunch more games for you to either try or keep. Some of which are quite interesting. Without further adieu, here’s everything to keep you busy this weekend.
Starting with free to keep offerings, we have Gang of Four. Developed by Days of Wonder, take a trip into the underworld of the Chinese mafia. Play the Gang of Four card game and battle for supremacy. You’ll use your strategy and cunning to face your opponents in a popular Chinese card game for the ages. You can either play against AI or up to three other players if that’s what you fancy. You have until April 5th to claim Gang of Four, so be sure to do so while you can.
The Pinball FX3 Care Package bundle offers up Pinball FX3 and three of its DLC cabinets. Pinball FX3 is the premier way to play Pinball with your friends or solo to climb the leaderboards. It has everything you love about the classic Pinball game, along with community tournaments, head-to-head battles, and more! The three DLC adds even more content, bringing in partnerships with Alien, Marvel, and Star Wars. You have the next few days to grab this game off Steam, and we can suggest it. It’s great for just chilling out and doing something calm in between gaming sessions.
Escape from Tethys comes from developer Whimsical and is an action platformer. You’re all alone on a desolate planet with nothing but yourself and your weapons at your disposal, and you’re being hunted. You must make your way across the planet without being killed by the droid if you’re to have any chance of escaping. Escape from Tethys may not blow your mind, but fans of action platformers will likely not regret giving this a go. You have until April 6th to claim Escape from Tethys on Steam.
Khan VS Kahn is a turn-based strategy game from indie developer Black Potion. You and either an AI or another player are two separate races fighting for survival. You must advance through the ages, collect resources, and engage in battles to achieve one of several victory conditions. It shares the same premise as the Civilization series but at a much smaller scale, of course. Turn-based fans have until April 6th to claim this title off Steam, and it may just be worth your time.
Coming from the team at Heaven Brotherhood is Keyboard Killers, a typing game. You have to hit several keys on your keyboard to defend your ship from incoming asteroids and other debris to keep moving along. You also have a little pet dragon who you must protect if that gives any more incentive. This may be tailored more towards children, but it could be a fun one for your kids to enjoy or something like that. Regardless if this interests you, you have until April 6th to claim it.
And that’s all for free to keep. As for free weekend games, there’s only two, but they’re very high-quality games. First off is Risk of Rain 2, a roguelike game from Hopoo Games. Risk of Rain 2 takes what made the original so fun and improves it immensely, bringing in a more enjoyable co-op in 3D as well. Each stage is completely different, so each run is going to be a different experience. With hundreds of enemies and many more items, this is a title you don’t want to miss. You have until April 6th to play this. Let us know what you think of it too.
Finally, The Elder Scrolls: Online is free this weekend. Coming from the infamous Bethesda Softworks, Elder Scrolls: Online is an MMORPG set in the Elder Scrolls universe. Visit iconic locations like Greymoor, Stormhaven, and many more! This is the premier way to traverse the Elder Scrolls world, especially with friends in interesting RPG fashion. This game will be free over the rest of the weekend, so be sure to give it a go and tell us your thoughts.
And that’s all for this week’s free offerings. Anything that specifically piques your interest? Any Steam games you want to see become free in the coming weeks? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for your news, reviews, and more!
