We’ve hit another weekend, and that means another batch of Steam games for players to try for free. Unfortunately, we skipped last weekend because no games were free at the time. If you played any of the free titles during the March 6th weekend, we hope you enjoyed them. This week though looks to make up for it by bringing out the big guns in terms of titles. Best of all, a lot of these titles are free to keep, so they’ll satisfy you even beyond the weekend. Without further adieu, though, here’s everything that’ll convince you, and keep you safe this weekend!
First off, we have Tomb Raider (2013). This reboot from Crystal Dynamics wowed fans back in 2013 with some great action, interesting set pieces, and great exploration elements. This game follows series protagonist Lara Croft on her origin story of becoming the Tomb Raider. Since their boat crashed into a lost island, Lara and her friends must discover the secrets of this unfamiliar place and find a way back home. The game is free to keep on Steam until March 24th, so make sure to pick it up if you haven’t already.
That’s not all for Lara Croft’s, either. One of Lara Croft’s other adventures is free to keep, being Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. This title was lesser-known but was Tomb Raider‘s first, and only, foray into the co-op game scene. Worth with up to three other friends or go solo as you battle various monsters, solve challenging puzzles, and work to make your way out of this temple. This may not be a very highly regarded Lara Croft title, but who can argue with free? If you want this one, it’s also available till March 24th.
If tomb raiding isn’t exactly your forte, then there are still a few options for you. Drawful 2, for example, is free to keep this weekend as well. One player will draw something using a particular word, and players will have to guess what it is. Once all options are in, all players vote for whatever they think the real answer is. If you have a few friends to play this title with, it’s a real blast and can make for a lot of laughs. It’s even part of the Jackbox lineup, which brings even more party games that are sure to get a lot of laughs. This one is available till April 10th on Steam, meaning you have some time if needed before grabbing this.
You or your friends may not be into drawing, but that’s completely okay. Headsnatchers seeks to put you ahead of your friends in some frantic party game action. Coming from developer IguanaBee, this game will have you battle your friends to see who can get the most heads. With many different maps to play on and different strategies, you’re going to need all your brainpower to defeat your friends. You have until March 22nd to claim this title, so be sure to do so fast.
For those who don’t have many friends (right there with you reader), Deiland is a great adventure RPG that’s free to keep. You play as a kid on a planet and are given the ability to explore and do whatever you please. You can level up various skills, build different contraptions or buildings, or anything you can think of. The world is left to your imagination and is sure to satisfy those who like sandbox games. Make sure to claim Deiland on Steam before March 23rd!
Continuing on the trend of relaxing games here, there’s Pleasure Puzzle: Portrait from Chinese developer Black Demon. Despite what the developer’s name may have you imply, this is a relaxing puzzle game that has you rearranging tiles to create pretty pictures. It’s very relaxing and calming so those that want a laid back experience can enjoy that. You have until March 26th to claim this title, and the other titles in the trilogy are at a reduced price.
Perhaps you’re looking for a good shooter is something you’re looking for here. Well as much as it might not seem like it at first glance, Goat of Duty might be that very thing for you. This is an arena shooter like no other, having players play as goats and shoot each other with bliss you really can’t get anywhere else. Arena shooter fans will especially be interested in this as it shares many similarities. You have until March 31st to claim this title so be sure to do so and keep it forever thanks to the #StayAtHome campaign.
And then we have two games that are free to play for only this weekend. I’d suggest prioritizing these two if you’re interested since you don’t have long. First off, though, is Pikuniku from the legends themselves, Devolver Digital. Pikuniku brings puzzling and platforming into an absurd plotline and world. The world on the surface is a happy one, but upon investigation, there is more than meets the eye. If you’re into adorable art and strange worlds (which is an unusual combination), then this is the game for you. Being a Devolver title too, you can expect this one to be of high quality. You have until March 22nd to play Pikuniku, so what are you waiting for?
And last, but certainly not least, is Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Odyssey takes the Assassin’s Creed franchise to Ancient Greece, having you play as either Alexios or Kassandra. As a Greek mercenary, you’ll meet many classic Greek figures and influence real-life battles. With much of what makes the Assassin’s Creed franchise great featured here, this is a game you’ll likely want to try. You have until the 22nd to play this title, so be sure to get as much time as possible now.
And that’s all we have for this week. As said above, this one offered a lot, so be sure to take advantage while you can. If you play any of these Steam titles, be sure to let us know what you think of them. Otherwise, stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
