The final teaser for season four of Netflix’s Stranger Things has officially dropped. The teaser was released as part of Stranger Things Day, which fans celebrate on November 6, every year. As usual, the preview provided several easter eggs that fans are already speculating over. The action-packed teaser reintroduces the familiar characters of past seasons, each of them facing fresh situations of panic. The thrilling teaser, while unfortunately short, indicates a season of unfathomable obstacles for the gang. Let’s have a look at the Stranger Things teaser’s best moments.
10) County Line Cafe
In an extremely short glimpse during the teaser, an establishment titled the “County Line Cafe” is shown. Viewers also see what appears to be two agents parked outside of the cafe. Stranger Things fans are certainly no strangers when it comes to diners. In season 1, viewers witnessed Benny Hammond, the good-hearted owner of Benny’s Burgers, shot dead for trying to help an on-the-run Eleven. If Benny’s demise is any indication of the events to come, true Stranger Things fans know that local diners prove to be deadly.
9) “I think I have finally adapted”
Stranger Things 3 ended on somewhat of a cliffhanger. The finale’s closing scene saw Eleven packing to go and live with the Byers family somewhere other than Hawkins. The teaser’s opening minutes indicate that Eleven successfully made the move, and is now trying to adjust to life as a normal teenager. Based on the background music, fans have gathered that the Byers have supposedly moved to California. In the teaser’s first easter egg, Eleven is painting figures, one of which is Jim Hopper. The following quote is in a letter that Eleven has written to her boyfriend, Mike Wheeler. It will be interesting to see just how well Eleven is adapting, and where that leaves her relationship with Hopper (who is obviously not dead).
8) Joyce’s Strange Unboxing
As if it’s Christmas morning, Joyce Byers opens a box that contains a mysterious Russian Doll. Unfamiliar with the doll, Joyce gives a displeased look as she cradles the doll between her fingers. Stranger Things Season 3 saw the gang battling a secret underground Russian operation underneath The Starcourt Mall. Perhaps the implanted Russian Doll is a “warning” to the Byers family to avoid looking into further Russian developmental plans. Interestingly, Eleven is painting a dollish figure of Hopper in the teaser’s opening sequence.
7) Mike and Will’s Car Chase
Amidst the ongoing chaos in the teaser, we see a high-speed car chase happening. Mike and Will are driving the infamous pizza van shown earlier in the teaser. Appearing frantic, fans are already speculating on who Mike and Will are on the run from. The possibilities seem almost endless. The chase is also happening in an area that looks to be like a desert. Perhaps those chasing the boys are undercover Russian agents who have become aware that Mike and Will know too much about the Russians’ plans. Or, perhaps they are trying to protect Eleven.
6) Eleven’s Bullies
While adjusting to their new school, Eleven and Will have both developed an interest in art projects. Eleven is painting small doll figures, while Will is painting on an easel in his room. While the duo is walking through the school’s hallway, Eleven waves at a few classmates, only to be given blank stares. As Eleven looks proud to show off her project, she immediately gets hit in the side of the cheek with a spitball. Eleven simply frowns, which indicates to viewers that she has actually lost her telekinetic powers. This is a groundbreaking moment in the teaser, as it shows Eleven at one of the weakest points in her life. As such, it is one of the Stranger Things teaser’s best moments.
5) Home Invasion
One scene, in particular, that is raising a lot of questions is the new Byers’ home being raided by an unknown army of men. The scene initially shows an unknown assailant shattering the glass windows, causing Mike and Jonathan to panic. A later scene then shows a large group of men shooting at Mike, Jonathan, and Will. All three of the boys are standing one after the other, while a mystery figure shields them. Speculation surrounding the mystery protector has raised plenty of eyebrows. Fans have theorized that perhaps it is Jim Hopper, having escaped the Russian camps and found the Byers’ new location.
4) Murray’s Realization
Arguably the most intimidating glimpse in this teaser is Murray slowly taking off his headphones. Murray Bauman has proven his significance as a strong character for the series. As a private investigator, Murray makes it his mission to uncover hidden truths about government organizations. As such, he digs deep into specialized recordings and the deliverance of secret messages. In the short clip, Murray looks shocked as he removes his headphones. Fans have speculated that this could only mean that Murray has heard something through the headphones that leaves him in disbelief.
3) Hopper’s Escape
Jim Hopper’s whereabouts have been a central focus of the show since his supposed death in the Season 3 finale. In recent Stranger Things teasers, Hopper has been proven to be alive. In the latest teaser, a mystery figure is ducking behind equipment in what appears to be an underground bunker. The mystery person is engaged in a shootout with several men, with bullets flying back and forth between both parties. Many believe that the minuscule glimpse is a part of Hopper’s escape. However, only time will tell.
2) Eleven Apprehended
Shown in several teaser sneak peeks already, the clip of Eleven’s apprehension is once again conveyed in the latest 004 teaser. Fans have speculated that this particular moment will mark the return of the sadistic mastermind, Dr. Brenner. On the other hand, it could also be Russian agents catching Eleven to once again have her try and open the portal to The Upside Down. Either way, a powerless and sought-after Eleven is a major threat to the entire group. As such, the actual truth of Eleven’s capture is one of the Stranger Things teaser’s best moments.
1) Will Byers Fights Back
Out of all of the Stranger Things teaser’s best moments, Will Byers’ divine retribution has the potential to be a game-changer for the series. The teaser’s final seconds reveal what appears to be Will Byers standing before a massive explosion. Several men also lay on the ground to the side, insinuating that Will caused their demise. Fans have suggested over the seasons that Will has conjured up the same powers that Eleven once developed. This theory dates back to when Will was first rescued from The Upside Down. Speculation only increased during Season 2, where it was made obvious that a “piece” of The Mind Flayer inhabited Will’s body. With the 004 teaser officially released, all fans can do now is wait for the highly anticipated Stranger Things 4.
