The reveal trailer for Out of the Blue Games’ American Arcadia saw the light of day at this year’s Summer Game Fest. This upcoming 2.5D platformer transports us to a 1970s utopia, and players can wishlist it now through its Steam page. Publishing for American Arcadia comes from Raw Fury (Call of the Sea, Kingdom Two Crowns).
A Perfect Life Comes with A Perfect Lie in American Arcadia
In American Arcadia, players will assume the role of Trevor, a citizen in the town of Arcadia. This booming town comes from the 1970s era of vibrant colors and smooth fashion. Everything appears to be flawless, especially since everything is being televised. However, the citizens are totally unaware of this, for the stakes are dangerously high. Viewers for the reality show can also vote certain people up or down, thus resulting in an unwanted death. Who’s behind all of this? Only Trevor and company will find that out in time.
The design for American Arcadia takes direct inspiration from the groovy era of the 1970s. It has a distinctive art style, and it comes with several enticing features. Not only can we platform, but there’s also a first-person game within the game, where hacking and puzzle-solving come together as one. It’s a unique concept that reminds us of The Truman Show but has a sinister twist. Attached here is the official world premiere trailer for American Arcadia. Be sure to check it out just to see exactly what we’re talking about.
American Arcadia is coming to PC via Steam. There is no scheduled release window for this title quite yet. We can expect to see more footage soon, but we’ll have to wishlist and wait until then.
