AC Comics is coming out with a new title- Superbabes starring the Femforce and these women indeed are that.AC Comics knew the gem of displaying women just as powerful as men, and they came out with Femforce in 1984. This comic has been running continuously for over thirty years, and it is way underappreciated.
Theses Superbabes are lead by Ms. Victory. With origin inspirations dating back to the Golden age of comics in the 1940’s and revamped in 1984 with superhuman strength, she is the leader of this rocking team, which consists of the afore-mentioned, star-spangled superwoman herself. Nightveil, She-Cat, Stardust, Synn, and Tara. Each, like any team, has their unique strengths, weaknesses, and powers.
Nightveil, my personal favorite; has a unique story. This Superbabes- once merely a costumed adventuress initially known as the Blue Bulleteer and had no superpowers. After a nearly fatal accident, she rescued the other-dimensional wizard Azagoth. Who helped her attain mystical powers which she uses for supernatural combat.
Next, you have She-Cat who is possessed by the Feline Warrior Goddess Sekhmet. Ms.Victory and Nightveil helped She-Cat gain control of the goddess within which allows the heroine to tap into the cat diety’s powers to give She-Cat strength and agility.
Wow, that is half of the team, and I already have chills. I mean super strength alongside mystical powers and a friggin Goddess! Femforce indeed is a “force” to be reckoned with.
Now to introduce you to the final three Superbabes. Stardust is a former scientist from the planet Rur (she is an alien). Due to an accident with a Stellar Erg, Implanter Stardust absorbs Stellar Radiation which gives her super abilities. For that reason, she possesses super-human strength, flight and can project blasts of light and radiation and when she flies, she leaves behind a trail of stars in her wake. Her costume is a unique containment suit to protect others from her high levels of radiation.
Next would be Synn, a one-time go-go dancer. Under a jolt of high voltage, the electricity reacted with the chemicals in her system that triggered a reaction in her brain. Her mind expanded to god-like levels, and her body became effectively immortal and immune to aging and disease. Synn can do what she wants by utilizing this power with her mind to warp reality itself. A rather peculiar and idiosyncratic hero, but I am sure some women can relate to Synn.
Finally, there is Tara, who initially had no abilities. Dosed surreptitiously with an experimental formula that gives her the ability to grow to colossal sizes. The daughter of a multimillionaire, Tara’s main passion in life is wildlife conservation and environmentalism. Years ago her father bought Tara her private reserve, Jungle Island where she has constructed a state-of-the-art biological research facility and haven for her exotic animals. Most importantly, Tara spends most of her time there when she is not out saving the world with the FF. What a team?! Femforce, rocking out since the 1980’s in their own self-named black and white comic book series and next year set to star in the brand new color comic Superbabes.
