The Winchesters, the CW’s Supernatural prequel series, has gained a pilot order. This series is one of several pending projects that have gotten a pilot order. It marks Chaos Machine’s first pilot order since the studio struck a deal with Warner Bros. TV 2020.
The Winchesters was first announced in June 2021. The Supernatural prequel centers on Sam and Dean’s parents told from the perspective of Dean. The story is described as the “epic, untold love story of how John Winchester met his wife to be, Mary Campbell. Together, they put it all on the line to not only save their love but the entire world.”
What We Know About Supernatural’s Prequel “The Winchesters”
The Winchesters series is currently in development by the CW. Along with narrating the show, Ackles is the executive producer. Supernatural co-executive producer Robbie Thompson will also pen the pilot episode. He will serve as EP alongside Ackles. When the show was first announced, Jensen Ackles then went on to say,
After Supernatural wrapped its 15th season, we knew it wasn’t over. Because like we say in the show, ‘nothing ever really ends, does it?’ When Daneel and I formed Chaos Machine productions we knew the first story we wanted. It was to tell was the story of John and Mary Winchester. I always felt like my character Dean would have wanted to know more about his parent’s relationship and how it came to be. So I love the thought of having him take us on the journey.
The announcement of The Winchesters notably resulted in a short rift between Jensen Ackles and Jared Paladeki. However, almost immediately, the bump between the two actors was crossed, and things were smoothed over.

Supernatural, created by Eric Kripke, tells the story of brothers Sam and Dean Winchester as they hunt monsters. It is currently the longest-running sci-fi series in the history of American television. Since then, the show has earned a loyal following and strong support from its network.
