TaleWorlds have just announced today that the long-awaited release of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord has just been pushed forward to the 30th of March. The release was first scheduled to launch in early access on the 31st but will now launch a day earlier at 10 am (GMT). Along with this announcement, TaleWorlds has described in a recent dev blog what content will be in Bannerlord when the game launches. We will now go over everything we know so far about Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord’s new release date.
Eight Years of Blood, Sweat, And Tears
In a recent dev blog that you can find here, Taleworlds described in length the reasoning for this sudden change of plans. Like so many people and game companies, they have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. They go on further to describe how the virus has affected them in particular and how they adapted to continue successfully to work on the game at home.
They went on to acknowledge that many others weren’t so lucky to still have jobs and how people are now finding themselves in uncertain positions regarding their finances and health. So with that fact in mind, TaleWorlds has decided to make Bannerlord 10% off for the first two weeks of sale, to sweeten the deal even further they are also offering an additional 10% if you own another Mount and Blade title.
What Content Will Bannerlord Launch With?
According to the recent dev blog, players should expect Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord to launch with a custom battle and campaign game mode. The campaign mode is a more structured Mount & Blade single-player experience and will blend a solid storyline with the traditional sandbox gameplay of previous games.
The campaign will provide clear goals and missions for the player, however at any time, the player will be free to go off to plot their own rise to power. The game will also have most things one should expect from a Mount and Blade title, such as the ability to hire companions and raise armies to conquer towns and castles.
In addition to single-player Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord will also launch with a classic custom battle and four multiplayer game modes Skirmish, Captain, Team Deathmatch, and Siege. The developers have also expressed that players should expect some issues in terms of bugs and balancing due to the game being in early access. They went further to express that player should hold off until the full release if they want to experience everything Bannerlord has to offer truly.
