The next downloadable fighter pack for Injustice 2 will include the world’s favorite pizza-eating, sewer-rummaging, ninja turtles. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be playable as soon as the third fighter pack for the game is released. The DLC will also include other characters from the DC Universe, including Enchantress and Atom. There is no official release date for the pack, but Atom will become available for early access on December 12.
In addition to these new characters, the developer, NeatherRealm, previously released two other packs. The first pack included Red Hood, Sub-Zero, and Starfire. The second included Black Manta, Hellboy, and Raiden. When counting all of the characters after the release of the third fighter pack, there will be a total of 41 fighters for players to choose from. That’s more than the total amount of characters in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite!
The last time the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles made an appearance in a fighting game was back in 2009 when they had their own Super Smash Bros. like game titled, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up. It was released on the PlayStation 2 and Wii and was received relatively well at the time from critics and gamers alike. It even won the IGN Wii Award for Best Fighting Game. They will also team up with Batman in Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, the sequel to 2015’s team up.
Atom and Enchantress are both DC heroes that don’t get enough time in the spotlight. Atom is pretty much DC’s Ant-Man, having made a reoccurring appearance in the television series, Arrow and then more recently starring in the spin-off, Legends of Tomorrow. Both shows air on the CW. He is portrayed by Brandon Routh. Atom also made an appearance in Injustice: Gods Among Us but wasn’t playable. Enchantress was portrayed by Cara Delevingne in the 2016 film Suicide Squad and is known prominently as an antihero (like all the members of the Suicide Squad) throughout the DC Universe.
Injustice 2 has been out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS, and Android since May 11, but it will finally be coming to PC on November 14, 2017. Be sure to check it out if PC is the way you roll.
