Evo’s Tekken 7 tournament has come to a thrilling conclusion and every year, it has been Evo tradition to make new announcements for fresh content. The “Grandfather” Katsuhiro Harada took the stage once again to talk not only about a Japan Tekken 7 tournament.
After teasing fans in the stadium, he shortly returned to the stage to reveal new footage for Tekken 7 Season 3. The first major update will include all-new moves for all characters. Secondly, two new characters were announced as well. Zafina will be returning bringing fast-paced acrobatic moves and a powerful, yet, deadly claw attack. The demon claw was also shown in the cut-scene rage art.
The second character in Tekken 7 was a brand new fighter to the series, Leroy Smith. His backstory was revealed as well:
50 years ago, a young boy was caught up in a large-scale gang conflict in New York, losing his family and his home. Missing for decades, he has finally returned to New York, now as a seasoned master of martial arts–and he’s out for revenge.
Although there was no gameplay footage released for Leroy Smith, the cinematic trailer gave viewers a glimpse of how quick and dangerous his attacks and combos could be. There has been a third fighter yet to be unveiled and fans have speculated that it might be a Metal Gear Solid character.
Tekken Season 3 will start on September 2019 with all-new moves for all characters along with Zafina and Leroy Smith. Later on the year in Winter, another character and feature will be announced. Then Spring 2020 will have another mysterious fighter and a new stage.
