Bandai Namco’s final installment to the Mishima Saga is going balls to the walls this time. Every few days, we’re getting reveal trailers for Tekken 8’s roster of characters. And this time, our old wrestler and brawler Tekken 8’s King received a juicy gameplay trailer of his own.
What’s New With Tekken 8 – King Gameplay Trailer
Tekken 8’s King Gameplay Trailer was uploaded to the Bandai Namco Entertainment Youtube Channel and boy, it doesn’t disappoint. Right off the bat, the new voice announcer for Tekken 8 steals the show with King’s Reveal.
Tekken 8 take things a step further with visual fidelity and supreme texture mapping. You can really see the veins and striations pop off of King’s muscles. Though it’s a bit of a step down from what we got to see in the PlayStation State of Play.
Earlier this month, Harada announced that each character is getting specific buffs in their moveset and arsenal. And in King’s case, his grappling steals the limelight, adding lots of juggling potential to his move set. But that’s not all. Tekken 8’s King has been endowed with some incredible Heat Smashes.
A lot has changed in regard to Tekken 8, King, and his gameplay. Some fans are a bit skeptical of the new changes made to Tekken when it comes to the Heat System. Rage Drives have been removed from the game to make room for the Heat System.
There’s lots of concern about how this might affect high-level tournaments like Evo Japan and even casual play. Good thing that select members can register and partake in Tekken 8’s Closed Alpha Testing at EVO Japan on 31st March 2023.
