Bandai Namco is stepping up the ante with earlier and earlier character reveals and gameplay trailers. Earlier this week, they kicked off with a gameplay reveal for King. But another challenger has stepped into the limelight. Tekken 8‘s Lars got a gameplay reveal.
Tekken 8 Lars Gameplay Reveal
Tekken 8 was initially revealed with a cinematic reveal trailer back in September 2022, and from then on, Bandai Namco pretty much went quiet. But it was in recent months that the developers stepped forth with some interesting details about the gameplay.
It was on Tuesday that Bandai Namco took to their official Youtube page and revealed Tekken 8 Lar’s Gameplay. The character looks pretty much identical to his Tekken 6 and 7 counterparts, but his costume has been revamped considerably. As for visuals, his electric effects have been changed up, contrasting significantly with the Mishima Electric visuals.
Earlier, Tekken 8 kicked off with a reveal trailer for Nina, followed by Kazuya, Jin, Paul, Marshal Law, and finally, Lars. We don’t know if any guest characters will make an appearance as they did in Tekken 7. Back then, we were introduced to some flamboyant guest stars, the likes of Noctis Lucis Caelum from Final Fantasy XIV and Negan from The Walking Dead.
Tekken 7 honed a Rage System with Rage Drives, and Rage Arts added into the mix. These spiced up gameplay and tuned things up in Tekken’s competitive scene. But it appears that Bandai Namco has changed things up this time around. The Rage System has been canned with the addition of a new Heat System. You can still use Rage Arts to change the dynamics of a round.
So what do you think of Lars’ Tekken 8 Gameplay reveal? Was it what you were expecting, or did Bandai not go full out with this Mishima relative? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. Stay tuned for more Tekken 8 updates.
