Terraria’s content evolution was completed years ago and didn’t get new content as in the past. But that doesn’t mean the development has stopped. The developers are still working actively to keep the game up-to-date. We’ve seen many updates from the developers in the past months, and it was a good year for Terraria. Update 1.4.5 was expected to be the latest update of the year for Terraria. But the studio’s announcement reveals the team is going on a break. That Terraria update was expected to bring cross-play support to the game. We won’t see the update in December, but they also told us another aim for the release.
Terraria is available on many platforms, and it’s been told that cross-platform support would be a good fit for the game. We’re not getting this update this year; here’s the date you should be watching for.
Terraria Developers Pauses The Work Update 1.4.5
Developer studio Re-Logic’s vice president says, “I am so proud of the work our team has done this year and look forward to starting the next final update in January.” Apparently, the company heads are satisfied with the team’s work this year. This break lets the team have time with their family for the whole of December. It’s great to see studios caring about the developers’ mental health. The fans should respect their break desire; it only means a month of delay for an update.
It’s not the first time Re-Logic Studios had similar actions against the crunch culture in the gaming industry. Their management is praiseworthy. As revealed before, the employees work four days a week. They also get bonuses frequently and have time for vacations. We heard the Callisto Protocol developers were facing with crunch culture last month, including hourless work. Terraria will get the 1.4.5 update in January; it’s assumed that the developers will do a better job after their little break.
