We waited a long time for a Kingdom Hearts 3 release, and it wrapped up loads of unresolved plotlines. It’s evident that a Kingdom Hearts 4 is in production, and apparently, Tetsuya Nomura, the director, and creator of the franchise teased Kingdom Hearts 4 at a concert.
Tetsuya Nomura Dropped A New Kingdom Hearts 4 Bomb
This tease happened at a recent Kingdom Hearts Second Breath Concert, where Yoko Shimomura was performing her iconic OST for the Series. And out of nowhere, Nomura took to the stage and vaguely talked about an event that happened after the Kingdom Hearts 4 reveal back in 2022.
Twitter user, Audrey translated Testusya and Shimomura’s short dialogue, which was initially posted by @aibo.
“Last year after the KH event, there was something that happened that determined the direction of the KH series. – Nomura
“Huh, what? What happened? But it must be all right now?” –Shimomura
“(Turning to Shimomura) Oh you didn’t know? I’ll tell you backstage.” – Nomura
According to Nomura, this event defined the direction of the upcoming Kingdom Hearts installment. When asked to provide details regarding this event, Nomura stated he’d address it backstage.
We aren’t sure what the details surrounding this event were. But chalk it up to speculation, and probably, Nomura met up with execs over at Disney. But was this event a good one or something rather unfortunate? We don’t know for sure.
Is something wrong behind the scenes between Disney and Square Enix? Or are they making some drastic changes to the future of the franchise? Considering the game is still in early development, there’s not a lot of information to go on. Just take whatever you’ve read with a grain of salt.
