As The Bachelor wrapped season 27 and The Bachelorette prepares to air season 20 this summer, creator Mike Fleiss is leaving the franchise behind, as originally reported by Variety. He will be replaced as the showrunner of The Bachelor by Claire Freeland, Jason Ehrlich, and Bennett Graebner.
The replacements for Mike Fleiss to oversee The Bachelor have had a long history with the franchise and other reality shows. Freeland was a showrunner for Bachelor in Canada and has produced Cheer Squad and #CATS_THE_MEWVIE. Ehrlich has served as a showrunner for some seasons of Bachelor, Bachelorette, and Bachelor Pad. He also produced the Love Connection reboot and created The Bradshaw Bunch. Graebner has been an executive producer for the franchise for years.

The series premiered in 2002 and saw its first outing end with Alex Michel picking Amanda Marsh. Their relationship did not last long past the show. Although he did not end up picking Trisha Rehn, she got to turn the tables as the lead in The Bachelorette, which premiered in 2003. Since then, other spinoffs have been created, like Bachelor Pad, Bachelor in Paradise, and The Bachelor Winter Games.
Mike Fleiss has spent his career across different genres, from reality TV like The Bachelor to horror movies like the Hostile trilogy. He will continue his horror work by producing Possessions, an upcoming horror film directed and written by Brent Cote (Tainted).
The Bachelor season 27 ended in its typical dramatic fashion. Zach Shallcross had to pick between Gabi Elnicki and Kaity Biggar. It dealt with the previous week’s episode that saw Shallcross reveal he would not have sex with any of the women. Tensions grew, especially between Elnicki and Biggar. By the end, Shallcross proposed to Biggar, who said yes, and he broke up with Elnicki on the beach.
