The Backrooms 1998: Whatever You Do, Don’t Scream
The title in question (fully titled The Backrooms 1998 – Found Footage Survival Horror Game) transports players back to pre-Y2K. It takes place in the aforementioned backrooms, an endless labyrinth of puzzles and terror infused into one experience. Armed with a camera and some survival supplies, you’ll freely explore the backrooms as you attempt ultimate escape. While it may seem as if you’re alone, you’re not. Something roams in the backrooms with you.
Players will need to search for items and clues in The Backrooms 1998. As an objective-collection game, the clues that you collect will help piece together the whole picture of what’s going on down here. But you must be mindful, though. The game incorporates your microphone, detecting any terror from your voice to trigger more horrifying layers of gameplay.
